Nyt Europa and Global Focus are together inviting you to a briefing on the EU Digital Services Act The purpose of the Digital Services Act (DSA) is to establish a new standard for accountability of online platforms when it comes to illegal and harmful content. It is focused on protecting the rights of internet users and formulate rules designed to help smaller platforms scale up, ensuring a level playing field for businesses. With the DSA, there is a new possibility for ensuring a just and transparent digital environment. The briefing on the DSA will provide expert-level knowledge on the negotiations process of the DSA as well as on the upcoming implementation of it. Speakers Mathias Wuertzenfeld is Policy Advisor for Danish Member of the European Parliament Christel Schaldemose on the DSA. At the briefing, he will provide insights on both the technical and policyoriented parts of the DSA negotiations. Asha Allan is Advocacy Director for Europe, Online Expression, and Civic Space, at the Center for Democracy and Technology. At the briefing, she will focus on civil society’s perspective on the DSA in the negotiations and for the upcoming implementing period.
